To help me support you in your practice, it’s useful if I can see you clearly on screen. Below is a simple guide to setting up your camera so I can keep a side-eye on your posture while we practice—without you needing to adjust mid-class.
1. Position Your Camera
Place your laptop/tablet/phone to the side of your mat, at about waist height. (Approximately 1.5 to 2metres away is a good distance if space allows.)
This gives a good side-on view so I can see both standing and floor poses.
If possible, tilt the camera slightly downward for a full view of your mat.
2. Lighting
Try to have light in front of you (e.g. from a window or lamp), rather than behind.
This helps me see you clearly, even in darker evenings.
3. Space Around Your Mat
Leave a little space at the top and sides of your mat so movements don’t go “out of frame.”
If you’re using props (blocks, belt, chair), keep them nearby.
Dedicated wall space (about the size of the short edge of your mat or wider) is always useful
4. Quick Test
Setting up this way means I can keep an eye on you during practice and offer better support—thank you for taking a moment to prepare!
